Episode 32: Dual Career Couples, This is For You
Dual career couples, two working parents juggling careers and family, is more common than ever. It’s also harder than ever right now living through the coronavirus crisis and juggling all of this.
I’ve seen stories over the last few months about working parents, particularly women, considering taking leaves from work, or quitting work altogether, because doing it all right now is unsustainable.
Worst of all, I’ve heard of parents (again, mostly women) getting fired from their jobs because they can’t meet their employers’ expectations.
The couples who will emerge from all of this stronger are those who spend time bring very clear on who they are as a couple and what they value.
When my spouse and I were figuring this out all those years ago, there wasn’t nearly the openness of conversation about dual career couples as there is today. It’s so important for working parents to know they are not alone. This is my motivation for sharing our experiences with you. This episode will share the framework that has worked for us.
