Episode 88: Supporting a Friend Through Grief

As much as I value having words for all difficult situations, there are some where no words feel right. In moments of tragedy, death, or dying, you cannot take away pain and suffering, but you do have the ability to make things just a bit easier or lighter.

I often talk about the power you have to positively affect others and this is one of them.

Perhaps you have a friend right now going through something tragic and you’re unsure how to support her. The difficult part is that we will all experience this at some point.

It’s natural to worry you’re going to do the wrong thing or say the wrong thing. I still worry about this. The grace of being prepared for these moments is a bold move.

This episode provides six tips to support a friend who’s grieving.

Your One Bold Move: Support a friend who’s grieving by being present. Though this won’t take the pain away, it means more than you may realize.
